Well, things are starting to get pretty busy for me. I am not sure what happened. One minute you are a Junior in High School and you (and by “you” I mean “me”) have decided that you are going to be attending The University of Mobile, the next minute you are shaking the hand of the Superintendent as he hands you your diploma (well, actually just the case-they give you the actual diploma after the ceremony). Time really does fly by as you get older. All of my life I have heard from those older than me that as you get older, time seems to somehow speed up. That is so true. I have no idea where High School went. It all came and went so fast! And here I am a guy who is less than two months away from heading off to college. That is so crazy to think about. Who knew that I would one day be old enough to go to college?
So anyway, I am getting pretty busy these days. I just got back from Compass the other day. It was pretty fun. I got my schedule worked out, and I am for some reason excited about starting class (we’ll see if that lasts the entire semester). There is something about starting something new that just excites me. In addition to going to Compass, I am doing all of the fun stuff (I love that word-”stuff”) required of one who is about to head off to school. Making sure that I have all of my paperwork done has been interesting. Just when I thought that I was about done, I realized that I still needed to send my picture in to the Rez Life people (which reminds me…). And then there are the scholarships. I have been making sure that the finances will work out. But as much work as it all has become, I am happy to do it. When God called me to be a pastor, my youth minister told me that I could be sure that it was really His call if there was nothing else that I could be happier doing. As I prepare to head down to Mobile to major in Theology, I am reminded of how sure I am that it really is His will that I go into pastoral ministry. I am so excited about being a Christian Studies student, and learning more and more about God’s Word and who He is. God has continued to amaze me throughout this entire pre college experience. When my sister (a current junior at Mobile) asked me to come visit her school, I never in my wildest dreams thought that I could afford to go there. But the money just seems to be magically (more like miraculously!) coming together. What else can I say but that God has provided for me?
I cannot wait to get down to Mobile and start studying the God-Breathed Scriptures, as well as experiencing fellowship and worship with fellow believers. God is amazing, and I look forward to seeing what else He has in store for me!
I hope that you all have a wonderful day! God Bless!
Dear Adam,
I love reading what you are doing at school! It was good to talk to you on Saturday. How did your haircut turn out? I hope you have a wonderful day today! Tell Carrie Hi for me and that I love her!
Love, Mom
