Heart of a Champion

Taylor’s Header

I had the great opportunity to go to Daytona Beach, FL for a golf tournament this past weekend. Just recently I have realized how blessed I am for this opportunity to be on the golf team! How many people can say they played a collegiate sport or played golf courses all across the U.S. or made friends that are more like family? I have so many memories right now and I have three more fun years ahead! I am so blessed. The girls on the team are amazing and just lovely! We are teammate first of all but we are sisters more than anything. If anything is wrong with one you have six sisters right there waiting to see how they can help you.

We beat all the teams we needed to beat at this tournament! It was a great course, and we got a free Life Is Good water bottle for coming! I was so excited about that! We got to go to the beach after our practice round on Friday! I even skim-boarded! People actually drove their cars onto the beach. It was a lot different from Gulf Shores. We had so much fun! I even saw the Daytona 500 race track! We had a 7 hour drive which really isn’t that bad when you are playing games in the car. We got all our i-pods and played the lyric game to see who knew the most of all the songs. I got second place! On the way home we found a song called Heart of a Champion by Nelly. It is now our team warm-up song. They words are so encouraging! We have hopefully two more tournament: Regions and Nationals. Everyone’s prayers for us to play to our best ability would be greatly appreciated! We have made the school proud this year with being ranked 15th Nationally in NAIA!

Heart of a Champion By Nelly

Ain’t no way they can stop me now
Cause I’m on my way, I can feel my ring coming
It’s the blood of a champion, pumping
Deep inside my veins, too much pride to be running
I’ma get what I can and more, even if
My blood, my sweat, and my tears don’t mean nothing
It’s the heart of a champion in me
